Warm day for winter sowing

It was a wonderful warm day here in D-town, and I found myself with a spare thirty minutes, can you believe it?  What to do with this glorious excess of freedom?  Get dirty!  I went out  and tried my hand at winter sowing, again.  I have had no luck yet with anything.  This year, I tried Flax and Hungarian Blue California Poppies, in the tropical bed near the elephant ears, Bluebonnets by the rose arbor and Foxgloves in my cottage bed by the butterfly bush.  We'll see if anything turns up...

    Jen,

    Hard to tell fresh eggs from not so fresh. I have found Fickle Creek Farm eggs to be the best eggs I have eaten. We always direct sow our veggie seeds. Good luck on these seeds.

    I usually don't have much luck with seeds except larkspur, which always does well for me. Have you tried it?

      Thanks for stopping by, Phillip! I tried Larkspur last year, no luck, but maybe the seeds were old. I am putting together an order from rareseeds.com and I'll add some there. I'm going to try vegetables this year in a raised bed. We'll see how well it works ;)
